Lakefront Promenade June 22

Decided to head out on the water for a short solo fish as the water was dead calm.  Headed south of Lakefront Promenade and the Credit River.  Dropped a downrigger line and braid dipsey line at about 9:45.  First fish came at 10:30 on the dipsey 190' back, #3 setting twinky rig with White SD with Blue Flashing and blue fly over about 117 FOW.  This one was a long distance release.  Second fish came on the downrigger.  The downrigger started at about 60 ft down, and then decided to drop it to 85 ft over 115.  5 minutes later it takes a shot.  White and Green spotted SD with Green Fly.  Feels like a good fish and it ends up being 19.75 lbs.  Released to swim another day and hopefully I can find it on Saturday!  Rain started to roll in around 11am so ran back to the marina.

Nice! Noticing you lead from SD to fly is that 22-24"? Looks a little longer.

Hey Jeff, hope you a great morning!  Fished the PCTSA Pen Derby and unfortunately didn't get to weigh in any fish. Couldn't find the big guys yesterday.

We did alright for the 1st time out, 4 / 4, 2 kings and 2 bows, all spoon bite. Kings were mid teens and high teens, bows were 6-8#. Fished down 45-55 over 90-110. I'm good with those results for the 1st time out.

Good luck in the derby. If you want to come out my way you'll always have a seat on the boat.
