Bronte launch
« on: June 22, 2017, 06:50:34 pm »
Hi guys, just wondering if the bronte launch is open now.  No one has mentioned it in awhile and I'm planning on heading out sat.am.  if not fisherman's pier is the next best option I guess? thanks for any info.

Are you asking distance by car? ~13 km via Lakeshore.
By boat - ~10-15 minutes.

The water at Fisherman's pier is slightly down this week - no need to jump over water to get to the ramp.

Bronte ramp is still closed and will probably be closed for a few weeks yet. Water is still in the parking lot this morning and above the top of the ramp.

Ok, thanks for the good info. never been to Oakville harbour it looks like it would be very busy especially with Bronte shut down.

Crazy, and the rain keeps falling...

Currently at 1cm per week drop rate (with the St Lawrence seaway outflow at the max - emptying roughly the equivalent of 4 Olympic swimming pools per second! [10,400 m3/sec])...

Bronte and other ramps could be closed well into July or longer

I think we probably added a few inches after last night's rain storm. Holy smokes it came down.

Don't count on Bronte opening this season. There will be heavy damage when the water recedes and it is already scheduled for a rebuild. And yes Oakville is way too crowded now as a result. Best to head to Fisherman's or east to Prominade
