Grimsby trolling
« on: April 27, 2018, 07:11:46 PM »
April 27. Beautiful day on the lake. Set up in 15 fow. First fish at 830 am on a j-11 orange iff a planer board. Nice smoker 9lb chinny. Slow for a while. Lots if boats.  Moved to 35 fow and dropped two riggers on bottom. One more fish, 10lb boot on yellow mag spoon. Then the flies came out bad. Moved in to 15 fow and the flies were gone. Water temp 44 on surface in close and 42 out deeper. First outing of the year and the boat performed flawless... mission accomplished.

Fished Grimsby today in the rain.  At lease the lake was calm.  small coho on NK28 silver with green tape at 8:30am and a 18 lbs laker on moonshine mag green hulk at 9:30am.  Both in 36 fow down 20 ft on riggers 50 ft back from the ball.  too bad the laker was not a salmon.  had to keep reeling to keep the line tight because the fish swam toward the boat the whole time.  Called it a day at 2;30PM.  Lots of boats out today,  hope everyone had fish on.
