Grimsby may 21
« on: May 21, 2018, 06:54:13 pm »
On the water by 8am. No real pattern. Lakers, Chinook and a couple bows. 12 yesterday, 18 today. Most action 160-230 fow. Riggers set at 45 and 60 were busy with many a bunch of shakers on the cheaters. 15 lb came on a lime Lyman with black ladder at 60 ft. Speed 2.5-2.9 at surface. Saw more than a few fish  breaking water at 210 fow. No flies this weekend out that deep. Kept a few small ones for the smoker.

We headed out of Grimsby as well. Had success early in 65-80FOW so just stayed there. Ended up 5 for 9 (yes, bad percentages), all kings with 4 of them over 10lbs. There didn't seem to be a pattern with the fishing depth as the fish hit as deep down as 59' and up as high as 20' mostly off riggers, black and purple spoon taking most. The king shown is the largest we caught today (somewhere near 15lbs).

Glad to hear you had a good fishing and fly-free day, holy smokes they were terrible where we were. Guess I'll have to take your advice and head out deeper next time to get rid of them!

Wow great success guys, I headed out searching and searching from 15' into the 200's trying to find fish and lose the flies, didn't do either.
