ive argued with sooooo many ppl about what a pickerel really is ( more like a miniature pike!) even seen my college prof (fisheries science class) argue with a student, trying to explain to her she was catching walleye and not pickerel.. I even emailed the MNR asking why they put "pickerel" on the posters and they said "because people up north call them pickerel" so hmm maybe if we start calling bass a trout we can keep them out of season? i am joking obivously
