copper reels ?
« on: June 26, 2012, 02:01:31 pm »
looking to set up with copper .everyone has different opinion on what will hold what. based on line capacity
clarion553 520/30
cv55 520/30
800 tecota 450/30
all of the above should take  300-450 45# copper 900Ft 50#pp and leader

Or am I misunderstanding line capacity?

I have a Okuma CV55 with 450ft copper / 700 50lb PP backer and my leader as well as a Okuma CV 55 with 300 / 900ft backer. Both bought from A-Tom-Mik and i've in love with them. Great service too! They came pre spooled. I had them use SPRO swivels as well instead of a albright. I'm really happy with my purchase.

A Clarion 553 will hold 600' 50lb PP and 400' copper... I don't know how you guys are getting that kind of line on there without your reels being over filled

you would be surprised how much more line you can fit on with 40lbs rather than 50lbs

thanks
