Dude, we love to help. But please take some advise one of the other guys left on one of your many other threads. Spend a few days going through and reading all the posts in the tackle presentation form or whatever one it is. You will learn a TON.  It will also prevent you from looking like a donkey starting a million threads. We all love to help, but you will get so much more info going back through the archives.

Blow back = how much the cannon ball blows back with the resistance of it and the cable you have out.  So lets say your counter on your rigger says 100 ft of wire out, but your ball has blown back (it isn't going straight down) so your bait\ball is actually at 80 ft or whatever.

Sometimes its much easier to ask then to read all the good info on this site. Didn't know there was a posting limit for members. I think the reference to being a donkey is a little lame too. IMO!

Ask away and don't let the postings stop!!!!

Cheers

Search, read ... and if you still don't have an answer, ask.  We answer questions all the time.

As you know now, blowback is how far back behind your rigger your cannonball actually is, due to drag.
The way to fix it is increase the size of your rigger weight.  Most guys will use 12 lb minimum. Other guys
will go higher 15lb's or higher, but that depends on whether their riggers can handle that kind of weight (mine can't).

thank you for the information.  I have 10 and 12lbs...but might invest in some 15lbs.  I THINK my Cannon Mag 10's can handle that

I'm not sure why my blow back is the same running 10lb balls versus 12lb Sharks. I thought my blow back would be way beter than what I'm seeing. Both balls show the same reading on my new Fish Hawk.
I'm getting 20 to 25ft variant from the counter on the riggers to the actual reading on the Fish Hawk. I'm puzzled????

Could the new Fish Hawk need to be calibrated?

I just assumed the sharks would track closer?????
