Linecounter reel for Copper?
« on: October 20, 2014, 11:16:29 am »
I am thinking of getting a copper rod for next year.  I don't plan on using planer boards, just run it down the chute like lead core.  Do I need a linecounter reel or should I just put out all the copper all the time?

Typically you run the copper all the way out, thats why they spool em' 200's,300's,400's,500's and so on.
After a little while you get the hang of how deep your line is out,but if you have many copper setups label or mark your reel,so you know how much line is out,so you can decide to hand it to your buddy.. ,wife,kids.... ;D

Agree with ram. I don't think you want to clip a board on the copper itself.  You want to let it all out to the braid and then clip it on the braid.
