2015 Chantry Salmon Derby

Thinking about making a weekend out of it this coming Friday-Sunday, never fished Huron/Georgian Bay for salmon, but I was wanting to get away for a weekend and it looks like fun. Depending on the weather/wind, I think I'll be making the trip.

Anyone else plan on fishing the Chantry Salmon Derby?

I fish it all the time. It's a grind. Fish lions head or waitron. The scenery will make up for the action plus it is the best spot to fish lately. Good luck if you go.

I plan on going in the Owen sound derby was going to go in the chantry but decided not to only cause I've bin out fishing off port Elgin and the Bruce all season and have only managed to get two kohos and a laker I don't know weather I'm doing something wrong or what but I can't catch a break..... Anyone know what the hot lures or bait is this year in Huron/ Georgian bay.

Take a trip to Lake Huron Rod and Gun in Underwood!  Brad will tell you what he has been selling.  I moved North here to the Soo from Kincardine a few years back, so as far as hot colours, don't know, but fishing was terrible back then, likely worse now!

in 3 days theyve weighed in 168 salmon and 275 trout, I dont think your chances will be better in OS.
