2016 Port Whitby Dates
« on: February 02, 2016, 01:44:44 am »

Would anyone know if the dates have been chosen for 2016 Port Whitby Tournaments. I'm trying to book vacation time from work that wil be needed. Even if the dates are not firm yet I wouldn't mind some idea.

Thanks
Russell

We are trying to get the committee together to finalize dates but it is most likely;

Sat July 2
Sat July 23 or Sun July 24 - Depends upon Whitby Harbour Days
Sat Aug 20

I'll post when finalized.

Thanks for the update. If those dates get chosen I won't even have to book time off.

We had our first organizing meeting last night so dates are now confirmed ... no change from above. 2016 dates are the following;

 Sat July 2   Whitby Derby #1   Note: also start of GOSD

 Sun July 24  Whitby Derby #2  Note: Whitby harbour day is on Sat July 23 with fireworks show that evening

 Sat Aug 20  Whitby Derby # 3   Note: also last day of GOSD.

 Should be a great season.

Are the tournaments still $25 per rod, 6 rod max?

Hoping to make 1 or 2 or them this year, coming down from Ottawa.

Okay great thanks for the info. I have heard good things about these tournaments, Just need to hope for good weather, my boat is only 17.5 feet so not great in the rough stuff on the big lake.

Ugh, just drove all the way out to Gagnon's in Oshawa and they don't have any entry forms for this like they did last year.

Anyone know where you can register for this?

I'm interested as well, will be my first time. Sounds like it's the opposite of other tournaments in that its biggest fish takes top prize and Calcutta is heaviest 3 fish box...
