Just a quick reminder the derby is Sunday July 24. You can get tickets at Gagnons or the Whitby Marina office. If out of town you can email me your team info and pay at the gas dock in the morning ( 5 am). Bruce.Burt2@Sympatico.ca

just wondering how the rest of the field did? we got blown off an hour early, and with only a 13lb fish in the box we headed home. really tough day for us.

We got 1 bow and 2 shakers in front of Pickering.. Should have stayed in front of Whitby like our original plan was..

We tried from 40 FOW to 220 FOW...   Waves were pretty gnarly out in 220.. lol.

Thats fishing I guess..

We (Salmon Snipers) managed to go 8/10 and weighed in a 3 between 19-22. Mostly a spoon bite for us with a couple on sd fly and most were caught inside 100'.

Once the waves picked up we pulled gear (we were west of the nuke plant in Pickering by then) and booked it into Oshawa so we could troll west for the last hour and a half.

Was our first time in this tourney and we enjoyed ourselves, seems like a good group of guys. Next time will have to say for the bbq.

Just waiting on the data and I'll post the results.  For the NRW Fishing Team ;  we only hooked into one decent fish almost as soon as we setup and then only managed one small fish after that. Wind from the East, fish bite the least .... Slowest day we have had out on the lake since May. Seems the teams that stayed close to home did the best. Only saw 2 boxes with three heavies (20 +'rs).

Yep I fished close but to the east a mile. Got 2 fish quick and then that east wind kicked up. Lost the pod of fish I was on and it was silent till 1pm. Blank screens from 730 to 1pm.
