Plans are coming together very well for another great derby series this summer out of Whitby Marina. Prizes are being picked up, posters made, registrations dropped off and the kings are starting to show! We hope this year's series will have great participation once again and we know of several new boats that are planning to join in the fun.
Registration forms will be available at Gagnon Sports in Oshawa and Port Whitby Marina office as of June 26th, so please drop in to fill one out, pay for your rods ($25 each, to a max of 6) and Calcutta ($50 per boat).
Make note that the executive made a decision to pay out the top 2 spots in the Calcutta, with a 70 / 30 split of the total $$ this year. Come on out and enjoy some great fishing, some light competition, and a great bbq and prize table after weigh in.
Additional proceeds beyond the prize payouts go to support Metro East Anglers and their ongoing work at the Ringwood Fish Culture Station, including administration of various chinook pen projects across the north shore of Lake Ontario, fish rearing of Coho and Atlantic Salmon, Brown and Rainbow Trout for stocking initiatives in various north shore tribs and management of the Milne Fish Ladder on the Rouge River.
