New PB King on Solo Trip
« on: July 13, 2019, 11:19:49 pm »
My 2nd salmon season is finally off to a start on the east end. Weather has not been cooperating the last few weekends. This morning was no exception, but I managed a couple fish before I got blown off the lake. I forgot my box with flashers and digital scale so I ran only spoons. Never got a good weight on this fish but it maxed my 25lb scale. Solo fishing is a whole new ball game!

LOL! Great vid. Love the passion! Nice job on netting the fish by yourself. I’d fish with you anyway.

Thank you!

How did it taste?

Tastes great after smoking! I removed the skin and brined/smoked in smaller strips as well.

Mmmmm

Yep mmmm. I did try to release it, but was unsuccessful and had to turn around multiple times to get it back. I release most of my fish but love a few walleye for the fryer and salmon for the smoker. I can see by most of your posts you like to chirp anyone keeping a salmon. Interesting. What do you do with the ones that don't swim away?
