Where to place a finder/transducer?
« on: June 15, 2020, 10:18:54 pm »
Hey folks,

I picked up a Pelican Strike 120 last year on a really good deal and have only used it once or twice due to time constraints.. and I am trying to figure out where and how to rig a finder and transducer.  I am considering the Scotty folding transducer. Can you place a finder on top of the transducer? It appears so...

I am not using this exclusively for salmon.  In fact salmon fishing will probably be the exception - maybe around river mouth time for stagers...

Any suggestions?  By the way, I have a Piranha Max 175 that several years old but wasn't used much so it's practically new.  Where and how do you place and protect the battery?

thanks!!

Hey there!
I have a pelican 12' from Costco.  Can't remember the model.  My transducer mounts through a scupper hole using a piece is PVC pipe.
I'll take pictures tomorrow.

Sorry for the late response.
You may have to drill the scupper out.  I did.  Just be careful to only drill the thin piece not the actual scupper!
