I use primarily 83 KHZ for salmon fishing, tracks balls well  or High Chirp when you are looking for fish laying on the bottom.  If you are going to fish inland for say bass and walleye as well you need to figure out which KHZ reading you want 50 or 200. One is for deep water  500FOW plus and other is for bass master 30FOW. My target zone is usually 45 to 160 and these 2 settings work best for me. I find Med Chirp shows same detail as 83KHZ.
Give a fish and they eat for a day, teach them to fish they eat for a lifetime both in mind and body

I have a Lowrance HDS 9 carbon.  I am currently running an Airmar P66 transducer.  It works fine but I'm thinking of a  upgrade.  The Airmar TM150M looks like it might do the job.  Anybody using one that can tell me how they like it?

One would think any chirp transducer upgrade could and would be better.

You may also want to consider the 165hw at 600watts.

Tim Allen would say more power , lol

Enjoy your choices.

Yes I see the Airmar TM150M  is only 300 watts compared to 600 for the P66.  More power for sure.
