REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN for the first Port Whitby Sport Fishing Association Summer Salmon Series Derby taking place this Saturday and Sunday, July 25th and 26th.

The trial virtual derby which took place last weekend went very well overall and we’re ready to really put the FISHDONKEY app to the test with lots of boats / teams involved. Download the APP for free and have a designated member of your team register for the derby, which runs from 12:01 Saturday morning to 4:00 pm Sunday afternoon. Participants can fish anytime during open hours. Just search ‘Port Whitby’ once you click on Join a Tournament.

If you are planning to enter the 3 fish total measure Calcutta division please put a “C -“ in front of your name or team name. This will help us identify Calcutta teams on the leaderboard.

Bump measure boards will once again be available at Whitby Marina and Bluffer’s Park in the marina offices. Please use the bump boards we have provided to everyone. To be eligible for the derby, boats must depart from either Port Whitby or Bluffer’s Park.

Our main goal in running these derbies is to provide a safe and enjoyable way to have fun, enjoy a little spirited competition and raise as much money as possible for the Metro East Anglers and their fish rearing operations at Ringwood Hatchery.

If you have any questions, please respond here and we can all learn this new way of running a derby together.

Thanks all!! 🎣🐟💦
