The St Catharines Game & Fish Association is proud to announce that the 45th Annual  Spring Salmon Derby is set to run from Sat April 3 to Sat June 5 (9 weeks!!)

Some of the highlights include:

Biggest Salmon overall will win $5000

Biggest Salmon every 3 weeks will win $2000 & the 2nd biggest Salmon every 3 weeks will win a pair of trolling weights from POW. The 3rd biggest Salmon every 3 weeks will  win a Silver Salmon challenge entry ticket.

Biggest Salmon in the Junior division will win a $1000 value fishing kayak from DAS KING

Top 10 overall prizes for Salmon, Rainbow, Brown & Lake Trout

Top 3 overall prizes for Junior division in all species

Members division prizes for all species

Early bird draw: all tickets bought by March 27 will qualify to win a set of rod holder trees from Moby Nick.

All tickets bought qualify to win a Scotty 1116 Downrigger. As well, everyone who places in the top 10 main leaderboard receives an additional draw entry.

For all OSGA members, the boat who weighs in the largest Salmon amongst 2021 OSGA members wins a 2022 Boat ticket.

The Spring Salmon Derby
 will proceed April 3 as scheduled & our launch ramp will be open.
Some other important notes:
1) The parking pay machine is up and running at the SCGFA launch ramp in Port Dalhousie. $15 per day. This machine accepts credit cards only. Season launch passes are available at Peters Tackle and Grimsby Tackle and online. Season pass holders may park trucks & trailers inside the property on the west side of Lighthouse road. Please keep passes displayed in the  windshield. All others, and single vehicles are to park across the road. Please be prompt and prepared when launching and pulling out to avoid congestion.
2) We will not have regular ramp staff volunteers for the next 4 weeks.
3) Weigh stations are: Fisherman's pier, Bills Bait & Tackle, Grimsby Tackle, Peters Tackle & St Catharines Marina - Port Weller. 
4) On Sundays, Peters Tackle & Grimsby Tackle are closed, & St Catharines Marina often closes early. This weekend is also a holiday weekend,  so there are limited open scales for this Sunday.
5) We will have an attendant at the SCGFA Dalhousie ramp scale on Sundays for the month of April between 11am-12pm. Upon request by phone or text an attendant can be available between 7pm-8pm Sunday evenings.  905-937-6355
6) Fisherman's Pier is not set up yet and is unavailable to weigh fish this weekend. They should be by Monday. 
7) The SCGFA has worked very hard to plan as best we can to keep the derby running and our property available for use. Please be respectful of COVID 19 guidelines and practice social distancing on our property, as well at other launch ramps, marinas and weigh stations.
