Great report. I need to get me some Apex spoons are you running dipseys or jet divers? My boat is coming out of storage this weekend so Iím hoping to get out fishing if the weather stays nice

King Joe:
Hey Joes13

Not Apex spoons, Apex Trolling Lures, specifically...Size 4.0 which is the slow troll model.

I use jet divers (and torpedos and sometimes banana weights).  Dipseys, even size 00 have toooooo much drag for an arm powered yak fisher (no motors for me...except these two Machines <he says pointing to his arms>).

King Joe, Outa Here!

JpScribbler:
Thx Joe. I love the spring proclamation! The 2021 season is on.
We were all in a far different place this time last year. Man, it felt good to get out and find some fish.
Great report, and thx for the real colour instead of ďarmy truck.Ē Thought you were messing with me.
We had a great day and some near double headers. For those that wonder about gear, I will lead core and sometimes also Dipsys. On the day Joe and I were out, I had one hit on lead core. The other three came on the Apex (4" I believe), running mono with a 2 oz slip sinker. That line was down 20 - 25 ft. Iím also a fan of NK magnums in various colours including watermelon. I always troll at 2.3 - 2.5 mph
My Hobie kayak is peddle-powered and I also have a Torqeedo motor so I donít have the same drag issues. I also have a small downrigger I use time to time.
Surface water temp was 38C on Monday. when I was out on Sunday, it was a constant 36-37C, so these sunny days are working. Soon, the cohos will be here.
Iíll post a couple pix here. Iíve tried video from the GoPro in the past but canít get the right format.
