Lake Ontario Forans Marine Super Day, March 27
« on: March 27, 2021, 06:55:23 pm »
On the water at 8 am, limited out by 11 am. 1st laker fired before we finished setting up 2nd rigger. 2nd on the 1st rigger when we were letting out the 1st planer. Then a double header. Then a triple header. Then again double header... OMG!

2021 is a payback for 2020 that's for damn sure.

15/17, had to release 3 to keep a 4-man limit. Everything fired and everywhere - riggers, weighted steel, lead core. If you were to take a table spoon and drill and hole in it and add a snap to it with a hook, I bet it would fire.

We had a 4x header with them towards the end. I could share the video but I don't know how... That was a total smash... I did not realize that when the picture taken is actually 14 (2 over limit) but luckily, we filmed the release process video as well.

What was it like getting out of the marina? I heard the water level is pretty low right now. I’m supposed to get my boat in next weekend but I have a 20” draft.

Appreciate your information. I heard Wicklow is too low to get a boat in? Thoughts? Anyone out of Cobourg or Port Hope. Planning on 3 or 4 days next weekend.

@bigmatt, the entrance is low, there is about 0.9-1.1ft of depth when the other channel (with condos that we will never be able to afford in this life) merges. Lift up the engine.

I honestly don't know that area very well, so perhaps someone would chime in... A friend of mine from Ottawa would like to know that too; he had bought a new boat and was asking me if this area is as good...

And now... sit back relax and enjoy! The video of 4x header is in Russian (my mother tongue) but somehow I doubt anyone needs a translation
