I create a loop in the wire, put the loop through the swivel eye than them the swivel through the loop and pull it up to create a half hitch on the swivel eye. Then I tie a single overhand knot in the doubled section of wire above the eye and trim the tag end.  Some people just tie the tag end around the main line with a single overhand knot.  There was a video on line but I can't find it.  Never used palomar for wire but that's all I use for mono.

I'm a believer in the Palomar for most of my connections.
I re-tie a new swivel each spring and don't give it another thought all year.

Half hitch catnip mentioned with a bead in front of it. The bead is mainly for storage, to reel the line tight on the rod.

I haven't used the bead but I think I will try it.

I found the video.  It is on the Fish Doctor Charters website.  I had to go back to Internet Explorer to play the file though.

I use the figure 8 knot.

There are a couple of ways to tie this knot on you tube.

The one I use is the one posted by TackleBoxDatford.

Search figure 8 knot on you tube and his post is usually top 5.

Good luck

Just watched the figure 8 video you suggested...looks like a great knot for sure...never worked with wire before so my question is....is it to much..meaning chance of a kink~or weak point with this knot?...looks great though!!!!

This is the simplest and best knot you can think of ... the only difference from what I do, is I do that first bend, and BEFORE I put it through the swivel, I tie the overhand knot, then put it through the eye of the swivel ... makes it easier to make a clean overhead knot without having to contend with the swivel.

This topic got me thinking.  I did some checking on line.  Apparently a figure 8 loop is somewhat stronger than an overhand loop. So, tie a figure 8 loop in the end of the wire. Then put the loop through the eye, the snap through the loop and pull it up.  Easy Peasy.

make loop with wire, go thru eye of swivel than bring swivel thru that loop. cinch down tight than with tag end make a standard over hand knot around the main line to keep it out of the way. the knot will stay.
