Whitby June 17
« on: June 17, 2021, 08:17:43 pm »
Launched out of Whitby, on the water at 6am. Lines in at 60 fow 20 ft down straight out of the harbour. The water was colder in towards shore, 50F.
First bite in 80 fow 20 ft down, landed a 15ish lber. Green and chrome SD with a green and silver fly.
Lines back in, next hit in 90 fow, 30 ft down on a green/white and chrome coyote flasher and green and chrome fly. Landed a nice BBQ rainbow. Water was 55F on the surface.
Last bite was a beast, 25lber in 95 fow, 30 ft down on the SD and fly combo again. Peeled a bunch of line but we got her.
Had 2 knock offs on Dodger and Apex combo and a Dodger and Jplug combo.
Marked all our fish in 100 fow and less. Trolled out to 150 fow and didnt see a thing from 100 fow to 150 fow. No bait balls at all. Water was surprisingly cold and got colder the closer we got to shore, found that strange. 47F at the opening to the harbour.
Waves got bothersome so we called it a day at 11am.
All in all a good morning out.

Good luck! Start in shallow, most marks were in 100 fow and shallower. No bait balls though.
