A buddy of mine and I headed out of Fisherman's Pier this morning and motored down to just west of the Shell Pier. We had a couple of lines down around 5:45. Unlike last weekend we actually found some decent water about 70 feet down. My fish hawk spent most of the day at around 84 feet down and it was around 50 to 53. We started out with spoons at 71 and 84 and took some smaller fish (10lb coho, 8lb rainbow, and some 3 to 6lb kings). Later in the morning at around 7 we took a bigger fish (24lb) again on a spoon. Had another double header at 9:30 and got another 24lb fish. Our landing rate wasn't great this morning. Had a bunch of small ones and few big ones not make it to the boat and 3 or 4 knock offs. All in all we landed about 8 or 9 fish. A pretty good morning for us. The most productive water was 135 to 150 and the rigger at 71 took the majority of the fish (we did fish 90 to 180). We switched to meat on the riggers at around 8:30 and it accounted for 3 fish. The wire dispys took nothing. Ran spoons and fly's at the same depths we were having success on the riggers, and nothing. I was a bit surprised. Fished the spoons at 2.4 to 2.5 and the meat around 2.1. The surface temp was 69. Spoons that took fish were wonder bread, carbon 14, but the warrior green jeans was by far the most productive. Good luck out there.
