Bronte Sunday August 22nd / Not biting
« on: August 22, 2021, 03:39:05 pm »
The fishing was good in Bronte on Thursday am and Friday night, but terrible today. Boats everywhere cutting people off running north/south and only one hit all morning. Please let me know how you did? Just a bad luck day for my boat or the same for you?

Full moon last night….   If there was bait around the Kings could have fed all night…

Tonne of boats off LFP/Port Credit. Took a hit at 6am and released aprox 20lb boot at the side of the boat in 85fow. After the 20 min or so fight the fleet had doubled in size so  I headed south to 285fow.    Quit at 830 out in the blue zone. 300fow Temps were 48 to 52 down 75ft. Lots of fish on the screen but no takers or patience at this point. Was solo and the heat was enough to send me packing.

We were out of Bronte on Saturday. Tons of boats doing the same. Marked lots of bait balls with hooks around them. 130-140 FOW. Fish were in the bottom water column. Fish hawk was showing surface temp of 75 and 55 in the 80 foot range. We went 4/9 not a great landing percentage but still lots of fun. Heat chased us off the lake.

Launched out of LFP late setup in 80fow with the pack at around 7:00 took a small bow off the dipsy, king bit the head of my meat rig but didn’t hit the hook..., landed a high teens king at around 10 in 80fow after switching to a SD/fly on a dipsy. Fish were there and I know people were getting them at bronte also but it was a hard bite for many today so don’t stress about it.
