General question in fish locations
« on: September 02, 2021, 09:19:29 pm »
I generally fish out of port hope. I catch all of the regulars: kings, coho, rainbows, browns…I hear of alantics but I’ve never got one.

From time to time I find myself on Erie or in the BoQ and sheepshead and silver bass always find their way on my line.

Does any know why I don’t get them in port hope? Are people catching them closer or TO? At the duck islands? Or on the south shore?

My wife loves silver bass, and I get “rewarded” when I bring them home, but I cannot find them consistently. Has anyone patterned these fish? Or, like me, are they just a coincidental catch?

Tight lines…and if anyone know where the silver bass are please reach out!

Lots of sheepheads on Erie.  Some are huge as well.

Silver bass for sure. They are a tasty treat.
Yet to eat a sheepshead but MeatEater put out a good show on Das Boat about them.

My son got his first sheepshead…check out my post in the Erie section. I held the rod for him but he did a great job cranking it in!  Had two or three great runs!

One of these days I’ll keep a small one…maybe on this years BoQ trip…
