Is the bite on yet?
« on: November 09, 2021, 07:30:05 pm »
I am considering heading to Picton next week for a couple of days.
I have a long drive 3+ hours and I was wondering if the bite is on yet.

Info appreciated.

Cheers

I was out on Saturday and Thursday of last week. Lots of fish marked both days in the Reach with two sheepshead caught in the reach on Thursday and 1 walleye at the mouth of hay bay (shorter day of fishing) after spending some time dragging lures in the reach that morning. So I’m not sure I’d say the bite is on but they are certainly there. Water temps were about 52-54f in the reach and in the high 40’s near the bay.

I hope this helps, good luck!
Andrew

I just got back yesterday from my yearly trip. Spent three days washing lures.

Most of the time was spent fishing from the light house to the bat cave. Surface temp was 53 and water was calm. Managed two walleye, three silver bass, and a 14lbs drum…all were caught on copper spoons…100 feet back, 50ish feet down.

Lots of marks but most of them are still really deep. Most of the guys that we spoke to are getting one or two per day but overall it is slow.
