I've used the church inlines for the last couple of years early spring, .....until this year I've always used 1 or 2 colour leadcore with it as I like to run spoons even this early and haven't had a problem......  This year I tried flatlining it with mono and a stickbait.....

Just my opinion but I think the leadcore keeps the fish more docile and ya got a better chance of getting the board to the boat and off.... If the front clip comes unpinned while you're trying to fight it and it slides down to the lure, ....the results were "unsatisfactory", ...at least for me anyways....
