otter board

just got a pair of otter boards they dont look like they are set up right . there is a rope tied to two holes on the board it looks like it can be changed based on usage. i am a crurch board person. is there a standard rig for otters ?   if so whatis it and where do i go to see it. the angles of the line seam wrong on these boards they were never used.

THANKS KARL I GOT THEM AT A FLEA MARKET THE PAIR FOR 90 $ THEY DID NOT HAVE  ANYTHING WITH THEM. THEY ARE SET UP RIGHT. THE SHORTER SECTION OF LINE IN THE FRONT OF THE BOARD THREW ME OFF THANKS ALOT

Eric - for optimal performance 9.5 from the front hole to the knot and 11.5 from the knot to the rear hole. It will track much better with this setting over the recommended setting provided in the instructions. I have pulled a 700 copper off this setting and the board performed very well. This is the setting that ost guys running otters on Lake O are using.

yankee..what kind of reel u putting 700ft of copper on and how much backing.i have penn345 w 600 ft and it is smashed on there any help well appriaciated

If you can find an Okuma Titus 50L that is the cheapest reel on the market that will hold 700 ft of our .037 copper (w/300 yds of 50# backing)

They use to make this reel with a level winder, but I guess the couple dozen reels I sold a season weren't enough to support further production from Okuma  (:

The reel is still made but with no level winder
