Title: Blue Zone Sept. 15
Post by: CATNIP II on September 15, 2020, 09:48:45 pm
Set 4 rods at 8:30 AM in about 350 FOW.  Worked the same general area for nearly 4 hours . Marked lots of bait and some hooks but takers were few and far between.  Ended up 3/3 all bows. All hit a black and green Enticer spoon down 70-80 off the rigger in 360-370 FOW.

Jealous!  How were the waves?  I’m hoping to get out after work tomorrow.

Thanks for the info!

Conditions were quite fishable. Wednesday looks rough. Strong wind warning.

i fished blue zone sept 15 out of 50pt. marked insane baitclouds everywhere. cought a few nice eater rainbows off 3 and 5 colour leadcore with orange dreamweaver and blue dolphin spoons. took a nice 12 lb king 98 feet down over 359fow. on a chartreuse/green twinkie rig with green meat

great day. it was flat calm out there, thewaves picked up as i got closer to shore

Not sure what speed you were running out there but sometimes I’ll run as fast as 4 mph... reaction bits maybe. I’m also no lower than 50’ and still catch many on sliders. Oranges and reds I find are good out there too. Sometimes when there’s rollers you’ll see the odd one in the waves.

Haven’t been out there in a couple years but I’ve heard it’s slowing down.

How late into the season can you fish the blue zone?

Im personally not sure, the salmon are running now and the bows will be doing a false run in the late fall after the salmon. I’d stay closer to the river and creek mouths in November and December. I used to shore fish the bows in the fall with very good luck and action.

I have been out there as late as Thanksgiving.
