Title: Cobourg 30 Aug 20 afternoon into the evening
Post by: rizher on August 30, 2020, 11:22:40 pm
Seemed like a good wind weather window when I go up at 7 AM in Ottawa; so I made the drive to Cobourg. We were lines in at 1 PM. Checked lines at 2:30 and somehow the two riggers tangled. Current maybe?

First hit was not until 4:30 down 75 on the rigger in 250 fow on a blueberry muffin. 7 Ib rainbow. Second was same rod at 5:15 PM in 190 fow. 11 IB coho. Busted one off the anchovies rig down 100 in 160 fow. Bad knot I guess.

I was a long way to the East so I pulled lines and head back West of Cobourg to 80 fow to finish the evening. Dropped lines around 7:10 and hooked up at 7:55 pm down 85 in 90 fow on a green/yellow spoon. 21 Ib King. Was a good fight. Got him in and called it a night.

Son got sick from the swell in the first 90 mins, but when the wind picked up and it got choppy he was OK again. We are sleeping on the boat and will do 2-3 hrs in the AM.

Video and pics will come tomorrow.

Sunday morning was a wash.  Too windy for my liking.  Packed up and was home by noon.  Here are some pics and the video.
